What does genuine wisdom look like? In James 3:13–18, Scripture contrasts the selfish, destructive wisdom of the world with the pure and peaceable wisdom that comes from God.

In this sermon, “The Fruits of Wisdom,” CJ Bohnen explains how true wisdom is revealed not merely through what we know, but through the humility, conduct, and spiritual fruit displayed in our lives. Earthly wisdom produces jealousy, selfish ambition, disorder, and every evil practice. Wisdom from above, however, is pure, peaceable, gentle, reasonable, merciful, impartial, and sincere.

True wisdom bears visible fruit. Those who belong to Christ are called to reject selfish ambition, pursue peace, and demonstrate the character of God through lives of humble obedience.
