Chapel in the Hills – Pastoral Staff

At Chapel in the Hills, Christ is our Chief Shepherd and He has called under-shepherds to love, protect, guide, and care for His flock. We call the under-shepherds “Pastors/Elders.” Consistent with the Scriptures, the role of pastor/elder is to oversee the total spiritual welfare and implementation of the vision and goals of the church, the local body of Christ. They are responsible to shepherd the flock, lead through example, teach and exhort, refute those who contradict truth, manage the church of God, and pray. The pastors are responsible for determining the overall direction of the church.

Todd Fletcher

Preaching Pastor/Elder

Todd was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ.  Upon graduation from high school, Todd attended Bodenseehof Bible School, located in Friedrichshafen, Germany.  After his time in Germany, he accepted a job as a youth pastor at Bridgeway Church in North Carolina.  It was through a Bible study at this church that he met his wife, Glory.  Todd and Glory were married in 2009.  Shortly thereafter, the Fletchers moved to Denver, CO to pursue ministry in the Front Range area.  Todd and Glory have a son and a daughter, Knox and Kinsley. Todd has a B.S. in Biblical Studies through Liberty University (2013), and a Master’s of Divinity (2016) from Denver Seminary. Todd’s passion is the proclamation of the Gospel message and the exaltation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  His ministry aim is to see lives changed through the teaching of God’s Word; to announce that salvation is found in Christ and no place else; to effectively disciple those who are under the care of Chapel in the Hills; and to give all praise, glory, and honor to the triune God!

Monte Stevenson

Born and raised in Kansas, Monte and his wife Rita began their journey together as followers of Jesus Christ.  Married in 1980, they have been blessed with five children and five grandchildren. After serving the local church in youth ministry, Monte was called to attend Western Bible College and Colorado Christian University where he received his B.A. degree in Pastoral Studies.  Monte has served as a non-vocational elder in the Chapel since 1985.  His passion is to magnify the Excellencies of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light through our Lord Jesus Christ.  Monte has served his Savior at the Chapel in the Hills since 1993.

Don Cross

Don is the second eldest of six children who grew up on a cattle ranch in the sandhills of Nebraska.  Don met his wife Sandy at Ball State University while in graduate school.  In 1966 they were married in Riverside, CA.  A year later they moved to Colorado and were employed by Jefferson County Schools.

In the spring of 1968 they purchased property in Coal Creek Canyon and moved into their home.  Their daughter, Kathy, was born in November 1969 and Sandy became a stay-at-home mom.  Eric was born in 1972, is single, and lives in the canyon.  Kathy lives in Greeley with her husband and their two children.

In 1970, they started attending a Bible church and within a few years both Don and Sandy had accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  Don was called into a leadership position on the church board a few years later and continued to serve in that capacity until they recognized God’s call to leave that church.

The Lord led them to Chapel in the Hills and they soon became involved in the ministry of the Chapel, which has now been their church home for nearly 30 years.  Don recognized God’s call to use his spiritual gifts, particularly in the areas of administration,
